Nah, I’d generally prefer a complete review from someone who completed the majority of the game.So back to my question
I bought it tho, so I have the ability to generate my own thoughts about it. No need for reviews at this point
Yes it is. They fly people out to review events. They send gifts and trinkets to people. They have to pay people to consult with reviewers. It costs money to reach out and deal with lots of influencers. etc.

If a dev/publisher had been friendly. You met their family they met yours. They’ve given you gifts. You’ve gone out for drinks together. This is a franchise you’ve loved since you were a kid, You will literally get death threats if you criticize the game, etc.
You are much more likely to be more forgiving to a games issues.
It’s just how human interactions work.
