Brock was an actual wrestler before he went to MMA tho, he already was headlining manias and putting on classic matches with Taker, Eddie, and Kurt. Ofcourse fans were excited to see him come back. His aura was never lost. MMA is real, he came in and whooped ass with basically no background in the sport outside of wrestling. So his loses never mattered.
