Bolded is not true for all "hoods" most but not all.

It ain't all good in the hood, but it ain't all bad either. Some hoods are different than others. People have a different perception on what the hood actually is. Ive heard white people who live in the burbs reference it as the hood and themselves as ghetto. And I'm looking like :rudy: that ain't no hood.


I've been there a few times growing up and it's fukking disgusting. Thank God I never lived there. You said no one thinks the hood is good but people in this very thread are saying it's good. My post was sarcastic. You try to say that people in the hood don't have the hood mentality. Well the crime rates say otherwise. People even on this site brag about whose hood has the most murders per capita.

There is a difference between taking pride in where you live. And saying the hood is good. We all know it's fukked up. But plenty of good people/things have come from the hood. Hell the entire America was the hood at one point. Where those people wrong in taking pride in it and even fighting a war to keep it?

And yes SOME people in the hood have the hood mentality. The color of their skin doesn't matter. Trailer park white people have the same mentality. And again you keep talking about people on this site. For the most part it's just sarcasm or trolling. You don't even know if these people are even black or from the hood. And it is still the MINORITY of people on here that CLAIM to think this way.

How is it that 95% of people in this thread can denounce this shyt and you ignore it. But one poster from weeks ago in a different thread can form your views on this subject.


Let the posters on here tell it that doesn't even happen. :laugh: The hood is Mr. Roger's neighborhood to these guys. Nothing but upward mobile black people who score amazingly on their test scores, great schools, all black owned businesses and not a gang or crime for MILES!

You are the king of finding and attacking strawmen. Nobody said the hood isn't fukked up. People have argued that not all the PEOPLE in the hood are fukked up. There is allot of upward mobility out of the hood. The fact that you are on the Internet talking to black folks is a testament to that. SOME people do score high and get into good colleges. SOME people just work really hard and make it out the hood. There are SOME good schools and programs in the hood. There are SOME black owned businesses in the hood. And not All hoods have gang activity. Nothing is black and white, the truth usually lies in the grey area.

Now you don't use the strawman card on me. That's my card. Anyway, I'm going to dive into your posts... You tell me most hoods but not all hoods are like that. I never speak in absolutes. Never have and never will. When you talk about issues like this it's majority rules. You can pull on the exceptions all day long if you want. It does nothing for your argument. I didn't say everyone in the hood was fukked up. That's the problem. I'll talk about a culture that majority of people have and people take it as me saying everyone is fukked up. That's not what I was saying. I'm talking about the people who subscribe to that mentality. If the shyt don't apply then let it fly.

Saying that you were telling "black people" to do better is an absolute. Saying that "black people who subscribe to that culture of the hood are the poster children of black people in America." is absolute. If you were talking to just those people who subscribe to that mentality you would say that and address those people not "black" people, because again black people aren't the only ones that have that mentality and MOST black people don't think that way and are appalled and ashamed that SOME of us do.

The Declaration of Independence says "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

That means a black man or woman can live in the hills with tennis cours in the backyard, can attend an all-white school or send their child to one, or can be raised in a quiet community if they want to just as much as a white, Asian, Hispanic person wants to.

Black people are not meant to live in projects and poverty. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A SECOND!!!
