I think at his best Fury gives Wilder problems...

At his best Fury was an unimpressive fighter but crafty and slick on his feet...He did all the little things, like getting in a punch immediately after the ref breaks the clinch and made his opponent fight his slow sloppy style fight...If I was to draw a comparison, it be a 250 pound white Bhop with half the athleticism...

I can see Wilder coming out exactly like he did against Ortiz, methodical looking to land that one big right hand and IMO that stands to benefit Fury...That's what Fury wants, a slow paced methodical sloppy fight...I just don't think Fury physically is good enough to avoid that right hand and stay on his feet for 12 rounds...You can't abuse your body like he did and comeback the same man...

So in other words I expect another struggle fight from Wilder that ends in a KO...

Hard to believe that this is only a few days away.

I still think this might end up being a horrible fight for Deontay. Logic says that the inactivity and vices of Tyson Fury will hurt Fury and Deontay will put him down, but I have a horrible feeling that this is going to be a boring ass fight and it’ll be the kind of fight Fury always has

Fury: Wilder OK With Being No. 3; That's Why He's 'Bronze Bomber'

By Keith Idec

LOS ANGELES – Tyson Fury feels even Deontay Wilder’s nickname indicates his mindset is to be one of the best heavyweights in boxing, not the best.

Fury has ridiculed Wilder for boasting about winning a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The gigantic Brit contends he would’ve thrown that bronze medal in the garbage had he won it.

The 30-year-old Fury owned more important hardware once he upset Wladimir Klitschko three years ago. He never defended the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles because he temporarily retired after seeking treatment for alcoholism, cocaine addiction and depression.

The lineal heavyweight champion can win the one heavyweight crown he hasn’t held by beating Wilder for his WBC title Saturday night at Staples Center.

“I’m here to be the best,” Fury said. “If I can’t be the best, then I don’t wanna be the rest. Second place ain’t for me, and third place definitely ain’t for me. But Deontay Wilder is happy to come in the top three. That’s why he calls himself ‘The Bronze Bomber,’ because of his bronze medal in the Olympics. I’d throw that bronze medal in the bin because I didn’t win the gold.

“So for me, it’s about being the best, number one. For other fighters, it’s just about being on the podium, being in the top three. So if he can mix it with the big boys and be mentioned with the best, then no problem.”

Wilder lost to Italy’s Clemente Russo at the 2008 Summer Olympics and settled for a bronze medal.

The Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native’s nickname isn’t merely homage to his Olympic experience. It also alludes to Joe Louis because “The Brown Bomber” was born and raised in Alabama before the legendary heavyweight champion moved to Detroit when he was an adolescent.

The 33-year-old Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) and the 30-year-old Fury (27-0, 19 KOs) will headline a four-fight Showtime Pay-Per-View event ($74.99 in HD).

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. pulls out of bout against Alfredo Angulo
By Dan Rafael
ESPN

The super middleweight fight between Mexican countrymen Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Alfredo Angulo, scheduled to take place Saturday at Staples Center in Los Angeles, was canceled Monday, Premier Boxing Champions announced.

The scheduled 10-round fight was scheduled to air on Showtime as part of a telecast of preliminary bouts before the start of the Showtime PPV card (9 p.m. ET) headlined by the fight between heavyweight world titlist Deontay Wilder and lineal champion Tyson Fury.

According to the PBC announcement, Chavez Jr., a former middleweight world titlist, was pulled out of the fight because his father, legendary Hall of Famer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., and his team "didn't believe Chavez Jr. was ready to return to the ring. Chavez, Jr. will return at some time in the future. Angulo will still appear in a bout on the undercard."

There has been chatter for days that Chavez would pull out of the fight because he had not completed required medical exams to get a license to box in California. He also had a recent stint in rehabilitation to deal with a substance abuse problem.

Chavez (50-3-1, 32 KOs), 32, who is just 4-3 in his past seven fights dating to 2012, has not been in the ring since giving virtually no effort in a shutout loss to Mexican rival Canelo Alvarez in their heavily hyped showdown on May 6, 2017, in Las Vegas.

Long-faded brawler Angulo (24-7, 20 KOs), 36, who was at his best as a junior middleweight, is 2-5 in his past seven fights since 2013 and is coming off an eight-round split decision loss to former junior middleweight titlist Sergio Mora in April 7.

Showtime's pre-pay-per-view telecast, initially slated to begin at 6:45 p.m. ET, will instead begin at 7:45 p.m. ET and has been cut to a one-fight show featuring the originally scheduled mandatory fight between light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson and interim titlist Oleksandr Gvozdyk from the Videotron Centre in Quebec City. The fight will also stream live and for free on the Showtime Sports Facebook and YouTube pages.

PBC also announced that junior middleweight contender Julian "J Rock'' Williams (25-1-1, 15 KOs), 28, of Philadelphia, has been added to Saturday's undercard in Los Angeles, where he will take on Javier Francisco Castro (28-8, 23 KOs), 34, of Mexico, in a 10-round bout.

Williams has won three fights in a row since suffering a fifth-round knockout challenging Jermall Charlo for his world title in December 2016. Castro is 1-4 in his past five fights, with the lone win coming against an 8-22 opponent in his last fight in May.
