I used to play seriously for about 2 years...The second most fun sport besides hoop to me.. You have to be in serious shape though.. I stopped playing for about 3 years and was just playing pickup basketball on weekends.. I decided to grab my racket and go play on a 95 degree day and was huffin and puffin about to pass out after one set..

1) You dudes know nothing about Tennis.

2) Arthur Ashe already existed brehs, so this thread is pointless.

the thread says we,.....

we as in this collective, or this gen.

have not seen a successful black pro tennis player.

so,...the thread is far from pointless.

plus,....just for starters,...

i doubt you have even seen ashe vs connors @ wimbledon.

nor,..have you shown some great understanding or ability to post on other topics.

so i gather your knowledge on tennis is rather flawed as well.

i really doubt you know anything about the tennis, the game, theory, mechanics or strategy.

not to mention,...i would smash and punish you on the court.

after seven to eight years of inconsistent play and inactivity as well.

playing in the hottest point of the day is a practice.

of extreme skill level an is usually not common place.

unless competition in a tournie.

schedules you in general to compete at that time.

if you are not tournie ready,..i would never recommend playing in the hottest part of the day.

or extreme heat like you just described.

art barr

would burn l's before going to go hit and during rally's.

plus, never be at a loss cardio wise.

yeah,...i would rather easily.

i know that for a fact,.......

also,..ashe played pitty pat, against connors at wimbledon.
no pro practices that low level shyt.

ashe was underhanded to do that shyt in wimbledon of all places.

which was a twelve and under junior tournie cheat/hook play,..that should be outlawed and not allowed to compete, onthe pro level.

art barr

pushing/pitty pat should be outlawed in tennis, period.

james blake is huff as hell.

another weak player who benefitted from the atp runnijg off the old guard.

purposefully, when they changed the best of ranking into that bullshyt they have now.

Yeah I was a teenager and didn't know any better.. Coming from Florida we are just used to doing everything in the heat...That heat and humidity just whipped my ass that day and I ended up throwing in the towel..I always wanted to play on an indoor court or on a grass or clay surface but never got to..

We were always on black tops which makes it worse in the heat...

I might start playing again later this fall if I can find the time and some decent (but not too advanced) comp....

You've clearly never boxed. You can't just stay at the crib and shadow box by yourself for six months and think you're going to be able to go to a gym and compete with kids that have been training properly. You need gloves, tape, protective gear, you need a boxing gym, and you need somebody with experience to teach you how to box. It takes a lot more than just "your two fists".

And what the fukk does winning a fistfight with "someone" have to do with anything? I'm talking about the actual sport of boxing. You need just as much if not more training in boxing to be great at it as you do in tennis. And you need to start early; most top level fighters had started training well before they started puberty. That whole "naturally a better fighter" shyt is the same as me saying a kid with natural speed and good reflexes would be a good tennis player if given the proper training early on.

This is how i know you don't know what you're talking about.

you did miss the point of what i'm saying...Tennis is a very expensive sport to learn how to play...and to acquire the things to play it.

$200 + for quality racquets, and hourly fees that can exceed what lawyers charge per hour for lessons...that will be needed for years

Boxing is nowhere near as expensive as Tennis to compete in, nor is as much training needed.

but yeah, you right breh.
