Take advice from people who you see living lives similar to how you want to live yours. Your parents can give you great advice, but if they worked 9 to 5s their entire lives without doing much on the side.. then they can't tell you how to retire by age 30 and how to make money without actually having to work by owning several businesses.

Hoard all the advice you can get and tailor it according to your goals.

Only person you should take direct advice from is someone who understands you in and out. That way they can direct you on your path right, cause they're seeing ideas and situations from your point of view, and know how to communicate it so you get it. And I believe that's why way back when, we had master/apprentice relationships, where you'd live in proximity with the elder/teacher and learn how each other thinks so that the communication was precise, and knowledge could be passed on properly. Like martial arts or old sciences for example. shyt you had to get to know the potential pupil's different layers, to discern whether putting the knowledge in his or her head was a good or bad idea for the world. Nowadays old heads give advice to whoever, and without filtering it through the context of the person they're giving it to
