This has always been how forum life was. Even on sohh it was nothing but fukkery. Nas and Jay threads for years. Clowning on dipset. Photoshop challenges. Forums always been about bullshyttin and crackin jokes. Every now and then you can get a good discussion, but few and far between.

Most people that are mad just don't like that Kendrick is on top now. They want it to go back to when New York was running shyt. Back when Jadakiss was droppin bars and Saigon was the new hot shyt. But the times have moved on. Like it or not Kendrick is the main rapper keeping the artform alive right now. I hated when the south took over but it is what it is. The culture moves how it moves. Wether you like Kendrick or not, Hip hop is in great hands with him in charge. He's making lyricism cool again to the youth. Teenagers out here appreciating the artform again. Can't see how anybody could hate on that.

his discogrpahy doesnt match either. and he has no album that matches illmatic IWW or reasonable doubt
It doesn’t match either because it’s clearly superior, Jay Z disco not even all that :russ:. It’s 2025 and we done with the 90s and hyping up shyt just cause it came out that time period

Old nikkas on top because the younger nikkas either dropped the ball or are deceased. Pop, XXX, Juice and others were dead before 22. Its not like Big and Pac, when they were killed the talent pool was deep (and at least made it until they were near 25) , a X and Jay were already bubbling under. Right now its a bunch of hood rappers and glorified junkies thats still trying to be in the streets but have zero musicality or understanding of how to structure a verse and make a actual song.

Terrible ass take. Why stop at the 90s? Let's get to the 80s and downplay Thriller and Purple Rain while we at it to prop up whatever new bullshyt is out? Sit yo lil ass down somewhere kid. Lol

I don't understand being a male Drake stan
Yeah the nikka might have a pop hit or two, a record ring off in the club
but to the point of stanning? :wtf:
Yeah. shyts weird. Imagine riding around in the whip blasting Drake. That’s definitely signaling you are a bisexual, tranny, bytch or lame ass white.

This. I've been a Kendrick guy for a long time, and even if my post count isn't high, this account is pretty old at this point. So i've seen the arguments about him being pretentious, or the voices sounding weird or whatever the fukk. I could sit and argue about why I fukk with him, but that seems rather pointless.

What really matters to ME is that i'm seeing people focus on these lyrics again. I'm seeing a lot of attention and interest in the breakdown videos of his albums, and songs. Even if some of that shyt is reaching (I feel like the reaching is more pretentious than Kendrick himself ever is), I LOVE that that element of the genre is back in style.

I don't hate the South. I don't hate vibes, and bangers and bops. But I did hate when they became seemingly the only focus. For me, the genre is BEST when you've got a diverse pool of artists who are hot. Kendrick has somehow bridged the divide.
As far as the original post, it is what it is, man. This is what's hot right now. This is the biggest thing to happen in the genre in a long long fukking time.

People STILL make weekly Nas and Jay threads. That shyt was 24 fukking years ago. Luckily Mainstream Hip Hop had a very very deep roster so other shyt was talked about too. But such is not the case now. You're just gonna have to ignore the shyt as a best you can, because I don't think its dying down for awhile. With the way things are in the world now, I can see America dying before Kendrick vs Drake threads do.

I just ignore all the threads about them at this point :manny:

trash vs trash is the most boring debate ever :russell:

this whole era is going to be looked back at as a big joke
Who’s gonna still be alive years from now who actually gave a shyt about the 90s? :lupe:

Who are gonna the gatekeepers and culture holders who are going to “look back” and say “ya know, 2025 was a joke and kendrick and Drake were both mid” :mjlol:

That’s literally all it is. They not low. Any Juelzing beyond that is bullshyttin. And with Drake being from Canada and he making southern music, they can’t dikkride him like they want neither. That’s all this really is. They want an old school NY throw down to discuss ad nauseam. :flabbynsick:

Is that how you took that?

Well shyt.

I'm not fukking sorry.

But I will tell you, as a New Yorker, i'm glad the South was doing something out here, even if it wasn't all for me. Because NYC has been doing next to nothing for a LONG time.
