When people say a City is Fast or Too Slow, what do that actually mean?

One area I felt was kinda fast is DC. I remember visiting and I like to walk the streets no matter the city.. I like to act as though I live there(did it in Minneapolis once during a blizzard…. Bad idea :picard:)

DC was fast but I absolutely loved it. Miami seemed fast but I stayed there during the week and didn’t get the weekend experience. Stated over by the Heat arena.. very nice area. Charlotte is a perfect balance to me because it may look overwhelming at times, but it’s easy af to get around. I used to walk the streets all the time but I haven’t done that much post pandemic.

Every city has late night resources. McDonald's, Walmart etc. stay open 24 hours. Most bars even in slow cities gonna close at 1a.m. no later than 3a.m. The grind is what determines how fast a city is. Covid and WFH is proof of this. If don't nobody got to work they're gonna move around at their leisure

I don't think bars/clubs determine the fast city. Most young folks go to the club maybe what, 3 days a week, and that's if they got money. Once folks get older, than club shyt dies down.

New York wouldn't become a slow city if you removed bars/clubs. It's the grind and hustle in what makes a city fast. Big global corporations, foreign people, etc. Take away the big corporations, capitalism, and advertisements and things slow down.
Wherever a lot of business deals are going on, partners are gonna meet up over drinks to discuss it. If a city has motion, manyyyyy toasts are being made nightly.
