seriously brehs, HOODSLAM based out of Oakland is worth checking out. Behind PWG as the best cali promotion imo. I've been to plenty of PWG shows and these shows have FAR GREATER ATTENDENCE and I am suprised they havent been mentioned more in the iwc. Shows are heavy with comedy and debauchery. The shows have a rock show like atmosphere mixed with wrestling and the shows draw all kinds of folks from hipsters, punks, nerds, whoever AND THEY'RE ALL GETTING TURNT UP. Clouds of smoke for the WHOLE DAMN SHOW. The promotion's initial storyline was about the shows being shutdown by the DEA
Wrestlers are getting high and drunk during the show. Its part of their characters, For example: Rick and Scott Stoner, the Stoner Brothers.
other wrestlers include Juiced Lee(bruce lee on roids) Pooh Jack(dude in a winnie the pooh costume doing a newjack impression) Virgil Fylnn III(who is probably the best on the roster), and Dark Shiek(main heel and creator of HOODSLAM),among many other original and parody characters(not including all the mortal kombat/streetfighter/videogame characters)
The shows also have an inhouse band that does music for the show. All the shows start off with a metal version of the terminator theme with fans surrounding the ring pounding on the mat(standing room only). They also have burlesque and side show segments during part of their shows too.
IT'S THE fukkERY WE WANT AND DESERVE. Brian Kendrick, Paul London(who i passed a joint to, DURING A MATCH), Drake Younger and most recently GANGREL,have all made appearances.
I might be a bit biased as a resident of Oakland, but being able to go to these shows every month remind why we love this wrestling shyt. When done it right it's just fun. If youre a bay area wrestling fan you owe it to yourself to comeout to one of these shows. Give it a chance brehs
