If you would like to know who the descendants of Abraham are then you will have to believe in the identification signs or wait. There is nothing written that says that these people are to prove anything to the world. That makes no sense when most of them don't know who they are. It is written that the Most High God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will prove to His people that He is their redeemer.

Lets say they were to be disobedient and try to prove this using unapproved methods. Where would they get the DNA from? Is someone claiming to have the actually remains of Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob? Or would the DNA be compared to imposters who entered the land?
