it was never "cool" being a non believer. being a atheist among black people is marginalizing to the point where alot of us stay in the atheist closet.

There's nothing wrong with being a non-believer. What's wrong is marginalizing people for their beliefs or lack thereof.

Of course, this only matters if you believe humans have any inherent value. If not, then nothing that happens to them really matters in the grand scheme of things.​

That is very interesting never knew this. Im not religious though it doesn't make any sense to me for god to be so jealous and choosy on who he does and doesn't help not saying god cant exist but I dont think any of the major religions make any sense. Also never had god speak to me like you hear a lot of people claim.

Because the majority tend to believe that by worshipping Jesus everything is gonna be alright instead of taking action... Also from a financial standpoint the black church has generated $480 billion in the last 50 years and yet black people own nothing .
We basically investing in a being that doesnt have a need for money.

I don't worship Jesus, but I believe in a God. I don't consider myself religious since I no longer follow Christianity (for various of reasons) or any religion.

I believe Jesus existed and he was a prophet or an important figure, but I do not worship him. I think most religions are bullshyt and are used to divide, conquer, ensalve and control humans.

We were brought on this earth to live how we chose, not how others want us to live. Now what you chose to believe in while you are here (religion, atheist, new age, etc) is up to you. As long as you are not enforcing your beliefs upon me, we have no problems. Unfortunately this is my issue with many Christians.

Is it really? In the bible when people would try to worship him he would tell them to get up because all he is doing is what his father told him to do. He told them to worship God. But hey, lots of religious people don't even read the bible they expect a man on a stage to tell them what to believe.
