When do you think Game of Thrones started going downhill?

Cersei empowering the religious nuts made no sense to me. The Sons of the Harpy plot was nonsensical. And the less said about Stannis and his fall the better.

the entire sparrow arc pissed me off. too many terrible terrible arcs that season. high sparrow, dorne, littlefinger marrying sansa off to that little weirdo, etc

Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead should have had each other's fate.

The Walking Dead should have ended quickly.
Game of Thrones should have been stretched out into far more seasons.

I hated that High Sparrow plot, Kings landing plot line went stale after Tywin was killed off and Tyrion left to Essos. So it's got to be season 5 for me. Also Aryas storyline fell of a cliff

High Sparrow plot was smh but at least had the Dragons, The Wall, Faceless Men, etc. storylines starting to come into their own.

I think it's fair to say it slipped here, but still wasn't not interesting nor the best show.

Honestly to me, season 8 was a big dump.

I binged the whole thing in like 3 months so tbh the whole thing is kind of a blur. Don't remember noticing a huge dip before the last season though tbh, but that may be due to the binging

5 although still a very good season is when I began to question certain things…seasons 1-4 were unquestionably great TV imo…6 and 7 were subpar but I held out hope that they would build up/lead in to something great with season 8 which was a huge letdown…I’d probably hate season 6 and 7 more if I were to rewatch them now knowing how the series ends

that was during season 5…they literally had no choice but to take creative liberties since there was no longer any source material to pull from after a certain point…and the show suffered as a result

I thought seasons 1-3 were of a higher quality than season 4, but season 4 was so great that the dip wasn't too noticeable

The dip in quality from season 5-8 were obvious, but there were still some very high points(BOTB, Hardhome, Winds of Winter etc)

I think I knew the show was done when Coldhands shows up out of nowhere to save Jon at the frozen lake and then is never mentioned again
