I actually agree with you on trunks and goten. They should of never been that strong, but we conclude it was because of the ssj gene passed down.

Even if you want to say there was a "SSJ gene" that's something Goku and Vegeta would of had from the beginning. Ultimately that means Gohan should have been just as strong as Goten and Trunks at the same age if you're gonna go with the "SSJ gene" argument.

I wouldn't even give a shyt about that particular discussion if not for yall throwing the word "gene" around like you know what you're talking about. You'd have been better off just chalking it up chi being passed down.

it was something every sayian was capable of if pushed too far. trunks and goten turned so easy because they needed a reason to have more super sayians

Nowhere in the manga or the anime was that said or even remotely implied. In fact they made it a point to say that there was ONE legendary super saiyan initially.

Oh, I'm not gonna disagree that it was poorly written LOL.

I got fond memories of that series but looking back it just wasn't that good. I got far fewer complaints about Dragon Ball because it has a better overall story, better power level progression, and it stays within it's own rules.

me too, i loved that shyt as a kid, i thought it was cool that there were so many ssj when i was young, as i got older tho i realized how they brushed all the characters aside to make way for the sayians. and after awhile they stopped following their own rules

goku turned in his last effort to beat freeza

i think the reason most the youngsters turned was because they were more exposed to the ssj--- if that makes sense.. goku exposed gohan/vegeta who exposed trunks gotenks--

i think it makes sense that the gene can sense ssj power and it becomes more readily available
