yet currensy been rapping about weed since he was signed to no limit but gets praised all over the coli for it :camby:
There are times when you can rap about the same shyt over and over and still make good music.

On most of his classic albums, Jay-Z rapped about drugs and expensive shyt that most of his audience would not be able to purchase or afford....and the albums and rhymes are all still classic memorable.

All of Spittas work isn't good. This Ain't No Mixtape? Great Album. Pilot Talk? Great album. Pilot Talk II? Eh. New Jet City? Eh

He also has lots of tapes and EPs that are also great. How Fly (with Wiz when he was listenable) is a GREAT mixtape. Smokey Robinson? GREAT.

Pusha IMO makes a lot of forgettable music. Don't get it twisted...I bump Lord Willin and HHNF on the regular

this is false...spitta actually didn't become a weed rapper until like '07, not so coincidentally right around the time he became a significantly better rapper (late start weedhead...but once he started, it gave him the wave)...and even now his subject matter is prolly a lil more varied than pusha (raps about vintage cars and such as much as weed almost)..but i get your point and agree...don't really have a problem with niche rappers...i think the thing with pusha is moreso a matter of people having higher expectations...all those years with the clipse there was this sentiment that he had the potential to be a top tier guy had he ever went solo...when in reality, he is who he pretty much always was...a midcarder at best, good at what he does..but too limited to ever be a main event contender...and there's no shame in that, he's dope in the lane that he's in

"If you was doing 16s when I was 16 and your sh*t still flopped and you switched teams, don't talk to me my n*gga."

currensy hasn't made a listenable tape worth any replay value since convert coup IMO and cigarette boats, mnimn is better then anything he has dropped since then :manny:
