When did running to a spot and standing still( A charge) start getting promoted as good D in BBall?

The first time I really remember it is at a high school game in the early 90's (I'm :flabbynsick: but I wasn't anywhere near high school age yet)

One guy on the other team would run and jump and land on both feet right in front of the offensive player and they were calling charges left and right. A guy would be up in the air laying it in and this fakkit would sprint over to the key where the player was going to land and they still called it a charge. He got at least 10-15 offensive fouls called. Needless to say, he was a cac.

When did a headfake and jumping forward into the defender become a defensive foul?

Because I see that shyt happen every night.

:coffee:

What Im describing should never be rewarded.

A charge should be actively playing Defense and Offensive players bullies his way in your space.

A defender running under the basket and becoming a statue should not be called defense.
:ehh:

This is so forced.

Had he stepped up, Draymond was open beneath.

You tey too hard
I’m not forcing anything. I know what I saw. Challenge the shot. Who’s to say Draymon finishes it even if Kd dumped it off?

Cousins was good at it but he never seemed to accept how much the refs hated his ass when he was on the Kings.

A lot of nikkas in here rambling have never played a game of basketball i see ... since when is guarding your positioning on the floor by denying the offensive player access to go forward NOT been considered good defense :mjlol:

Y’all can’t claim to be LeBron haters and not see the problem if charges didn’t exist

nikkas that are just physically dominant would have no reason not to iso and just charge mindlessly to the rim every time. If it’s just gonna be A. I draw a blocking foul B. I make the goal C. Someone helps over and I kick it out (the charge can’t be called If you just fall into the help guy while passing in this scenario, remember that) you just made the game so much fukking harder for a defense. It may not eliminate that reckless style of play but it makes someone at least think twice about their positioning
