I think Lucas is the better boxer and Maidana is the harder puncher. I really dont see Broner having any chance against Lucas though and I think he'd be a fool to take this fight

It doesn't seem like Broner learned his lesson from Maidana the way he fought Molina. Still flat footed, poor defense and no jab.
Either Broner is crazy overconfident or hes tired of boxing and wants to cash out. I remeber reading years ago that he was only using boxing to break out in the entertainment industry.

i wouldnt say broner's defense is poor but its incredibly lazy..if you're going to use the shell as your defense you can't be lax at all..on top of his low workrate..he got away with it for the most of his fights at 130-135 (although both flaws were exposed in the ponce fight)..to face someone like lucas with those type of flaws and youre asking for a bad beating

I'm confident in a Broner win here. I think you dudes are being too dismissive of him, the Maidana L was in a weight class he had no business being in and Maidana went on to give the #1 p4p fighter his toughest fight in a LONG time. Don't forget that Broner was winning some of those middle rounds brehs

The jab was working against Molina....he threw it 217 times as a matter of fact and his defense isnt poor.
If he allows Matthysse to just walk him down, without countering him and just covering up like he did against Maidana, you're absolutely right.
His defense is good, but lazy just as you said. He allows himself to get caught over the top to easily.
His workrate...if he keeps it up from the Molina fight....was good and he needs to KEEP it that way. He averaged 61 punches thrown a round against Molina including throwing 69 in round 5, 76 in round 6, 96 in round 7, 62 in round 9 and 81 in round 10.
Especially when you consider he only threw 43 punches a round against Malignaggi and 33 punches a round against Maidana

Matthysse is not as big or as awkward as Maidana. I think Broner, if he truly comes to fight, would win. He would definitely have to let his hands go, though.
