Whelp, looks like summer got its official box office bomb, sin city makes 6 million.

6 million opening weekend on a 70 million budget. Hercules was a bomb as well but not on this level.



Its funny I loved the first movie but i just dont care enough to go see this. They waitrd way too long. Sequel shoulda came out 5+ years ago.

I was saddened by this. I think the filmmaking style is a gimmick, but it's still interesting to look at. Definitely deserved to make more than that.

A lot of movies are flopping though. Sin City, Expendables 3, The Giver...they all flopped. And The Giver was promoted like no ones business. The viewing public is odd.

But we also have to look at international markets. A lot of these movies will be okay in the long run and most definitely once they hit the home market.

Giver only had a 25 million budget and has already made 25 million. Its only been out like a week, itll easily double its budget which is the general rule of thumb films need to do.


Expendables 3 will clean up internationally.

yea it looked pretty neat but that was about it.

saw it in theaters and ive seen in it in spurs when it's on tv but that's about it. didn't think much of it.

Loved the first Sin City, looking forward to seeing this. Horrible numbers, they took too long to release it...but it's not like the first one was a powerhouse either.
