here is the thing, its bigger than self esteem and image, the world will treat you better automactically if you are a lighter shade, my last two employers went out their way to hire and retain white people.... in Atlanta, a black woman was told she couldn't get promoted until she grew her hair long, image matters to them sop it must matter to us

Trust me I understand what it's like. I'm dark with the most textured hair (never permed, formerly loced for 11 years). The majority of my family are light skin except for my parents and siblings.

Instead of being afraid of the world being stacked against us, my parents taught me to be strong enough to stand up to it.

I'm not gonna pity myself and hate the world because I'm dark and they see it as a bad thing. That's their issue. I know there's nothing wrong with my skin or hair. I may have to work harder but I can still make a difference.

You see I can respect you for saying this. Alot of black men who want biracial children can't openly say that's it due to the fact they don't want their kids to experience the racism they did. Atleast you can openly say you want light skin kids for the priviledge. Thank you for being honest.

To each his own, however, I personally don't see racism and discrimination as a reason for people to date out in hopes of having lighter skin children. The answer to our issues as black people can't simply be 'lets have light skin kids with good hair and create a new generation of lighter blacks so white people like them'. That doesn't help the problem. at all. We are perpetuating the system. The key is the train the next generation of black children on how they will navigate the white world, not just hope we have light one's so don't can't deal with the issues.....light skinned people also experience racism so that solution just isn't realistic tbh.
