Having a soon to be 4 year old daughter with a rare genetic disease. I now have bad insomnia and hardly sleep. Can't get comfortable at night, have to get up and walk a few miles, and my energy is drained during the day cause I have to carry her everywhere. I'm a walking shell of my old self at this point.
Bro hang in there. I understand it's tough. A good portion of my life, I've had to assist my sister with her cerebral palsy son which lead me to working with special needs kids/adults when I got older. It's tough! Just make sure to reach out to all the resources available in your state, that can assist you and your daughter.

I turned 34 last august so I don't think I'm at that mid-life crisis stage yet , but I am changing my clothing style completely.

I don't think i'll get to the point where I want a sportscar unless my salary can afford it comfortably.

I mean it's fine. It's just like... coming home I have to take out the trash and scoop the cat litter and then start making lunch for the wife cause she hasn't eaten yet cause she's been tending to the baby all day, and I have to pay the bill she forgot to pay and then buy plane tickets to go see her family and then... and then... and then.... It's just a lot of shyt.

Some days I'd like to just come home and kick off my shoes and drink a damn beer.

My son is strong as hell, though so that's cool.

You need a Filipino woman.

I don't have a family, but have you tried waking up early on your off days? Like 4am? I know it sounds crazy, but just think, you can have the next 5 hours in peace and solemn

I'd build a nice basement and go on long drives alone. Be back by the time everybody is up.

41 here and happily married.

The only mid life crisis stuff I have are ironically very affordable things: art museums, music, reading, playing chess and video games.

We're married without kids so outside of work...i basically have all the time in the world to indulge. So not really a crisis.

I think my upcoming midlife crisis items will be remodeling our house to update it and make it more luxurious.....and traveling out the country.

we've worked and saved for 20 years...so time to enjoy the stacked bread a little bit.

A number of ppl here seem to be equating making non essential purchases with mid life? That's not it, just a cliche trope imho

That is hard for most anyone to imagine walking in your shoes.

They talk a lot about 'care giver burnout'

Do u ever get time to yourself in any real way?

Have you looked into getting a home health aid for your daughter.

Insurance or financial assistance should cover the charges
