Oh yeah, I remembered something else.

This clown:

supkaio.gif

Let us not forget his oh so brilliant plan to stop Babidi from gathering enough energy to awaken Buu involved by letting Gohan get his energy drained by the enemies, and bringing the most powerful dudes straight to Babidi's front door :dame:

On top of that, dude stayed shook over enemies that Goku and Vegeta could easily beat in their sleep.... :martin:

The Supreme Kai never bothered to even tell Gohan about Buu's power to absorb people :snoop:
And then this happens.

With his simple behind it took him millions of years to learn about how potara fusions work :scusthov:

latest

Just to add insult to injury, this knucklehead is one of the few characters not to get murked in the Buu arc. Gohan gets punked. Krillin makes his heroic last stand and accomplished nothing. 18 got eaten. Goku rescues Dende and MR. SATAN over Piccolo, Tien, and his own seed (Gohan, Goten, and Trunks for Vegeta) :dahell:

I forgot how :trash: this arc was in retropsect.

I know I went in on characters being dumb in the Cell saga but at least that story introduced better characters, had better fights, Future Trunks, a better showing for Gohan, and it had other characters shining besides the super Saiyans (Piccolo vs 17, Tien holding Cell back, Krillin saving that girl in the airport). Plus, you didn't have eight year olds going super saiyan.

Why do nikkas hate the Namek Saga? Lol. It it was way more brutal(realistically) than the Frieza Saga when all you were worried about was getting pierced in the chest and explosions.

You had Frieza ripping arms off, scared Nameks begging for their lives and getting killed in their own villages anyway, soldiers getting betrayed, Guldo having his head sliced off, Recoome snapping kid's necks, and Ginyu punching himself in the chest for body change.
The shyt was kinda boring. Expendable nameks dying "oh wow" :mjlol: weak ass krillin and gohan running away and vegeta getting beat down then coming back arronger and winning against Frieza's weak henchman was sorta good but then you got bulma filler.

The early namek saga was dope to me. I thought it was interesting to see Gohan and Krillin making moves and laying low Metal Gear Solid style. The stakes felt way higher because it was all up to the underdogs. You felt a lot more tension watching because ALL the hardest characters were either dead, evil, or off-planet.The total dork, the little kid, and the nagging shrew of a scientist who can't even fight were the only characters left to ride for the universe, trapped all by themselves on a planet full of bad guys (Frieza's men), and Vegeta running around wasting everyone. The heroes were outnumbered, outgunned, and forced to actually THINK, unlike the Cell and Buu sagas which would have been over in less 10 episodes had the main characters had actually been on point.

It was also the last time a major villain was directly going after the dragonballs, and a nice throwback to the sense of adventure that the OG Dragonball had. You can't have those types of adventures with guys like Piccolo and Vegeta around, dope as they are. They'll just be standing around meanmugging with the :birdman: face the entire time because we all know there's only so much to be scared of in that mystic cave when you're strong enough to bust planets.

The Frieza fight took a bit too long though.

:salute: times over 9000. The show entirely got away from adventure and the hunt for the dragon balls. I didn't even realize it but that and how all the little guys were left to get it done did add a lot. I gotta buy this series on blu ray soon. So much fire. Legit contender for best cartoon series ever.

I just can't agree breh. I'm with these nikkas waiting for Goku. No good fights, story is dragging, and Vegeta takes an L every time he gets a win. It got old and repetitive real quick.

Think ya'll forgetting how boring Namek was before the actual frieza stuff started

Give me Saiyan/Cell/Buu over it

Also the beginning of Buu Saga is AMAZING IMO from the saiyman stuff to majin vegeta

Buu Saga

Did my man Gohan dirty. After the Cell Saga I thought he had next.

Out of the major ones(Saiyan, Frieza/Namek, Cell, Buu) I would say Buu mainly because I felt it was bloated and dragged out way too long. My least favorite filler or sub -saga is definitely Garlic Jr. nothing else comes close.

:blessed: Buu saga gave us Majin Vegeta

Can't say it's my least favorite, but the story lines and character development seemed to take forever to play out.

I feel like the Frieza saga draaaaaaaaaaged tho. Especially watching it unfold on Toonami back in the day.

Just when I thought Goku was finally about to finish him, you hear "Next time on DragonBall Z"

Be watching like :leon: :lupe: :what: :beli: :mindblown:

Also, not going to lie, I came in here expecting a lot of people saying Cell Saga because I always felt it was underrated and everybody LOVED the Frieza Saga.

Cell is the best for me because it was where Gohan's arc came full circle and it was beautiful to watch. The whole series was basically building up to that point. If Toriyama ended it there I wouldn't have been mad, but he had to go squander it and Gohan's character with the Buu saga. Still irks me.

To be honest, all the super saiyan stuff was diminishing returns IMO.
When Goku did it the first time on Namek, it was truly epic. The buildup was legendary. It was believed to be a once-in-a-millennium event. The whole saga people talked about the Super Saiyan legend like it was a myth, like people didn't even know it was a real thing that actually existed. But in the end it actually happens despite the impossible odds. And when it finally did...

2096955_o.gif

And then Future Trunks shows up and goes Super Saiyan. :whoo:
Then Vegeta does it :whew:
Then Gohan does it :gladbron:
Then you have Broly in the movies. :ohhh:
Those were all cool ( :obama: ), but nowhere near the level of hype compared to when Goku did it the first time, IMO.

39-Jay-Z-Ehhh.gif

Then Goten and present Trunks do it at age eight :snoop:

full

Not only that, but then they retcon Bardock's backstory to have him going super saiyan...

anigif_enhanced3084214176757201.gif

It stops being legendary when nearly every saiyan on the show can do it. What's next? Bringing Raditz back and having him go super saiyan? :scusthov:

in the OG japanese version i don't recall vegeta making any mention of there ever being a super saiyan before goku, or that it was something that happened every 1000 years. that was something they came up with for the english dub.

the super saiyan thing was just a legend that vegeta didn't fully believe until he saw goku in action on namek.
