i have a bad feeling if floyd rematches maidana this could be like roy, i will never forget that night, nikka i was ready to cry when tarver gave roy that fade. those overhand rights going through floyds gaurd had a nikka :lupe:

this shyt parallels that situation almost perfectly with the exception that floyd didint just come from say, 160/168.

im shook yall.

Floyd would easily win a rematch and a fair amount of those overhand rights don't even count in scoring since they hit the top and back of Floyds head

nothing about floyds career here on out is going to be easy. hes been declining seriously since the cotto fight at this point, there are little things hes continuing to lose due to his age (i.e his legs) thats forcing him to lay on the ropes, not get off first, and at times not even pull the trigger.

im not saying floyds finished, hes not, but hes slowing down, i am not convinced he fought that way on purpose, his decline is similar to every fighter his age not named hopkins, especially a career lightweight. i have no doubt in my mind that floyd is really sick of fighting hes been doing it his whole life, but a rematch is not what floyd wants but he may not have a choice.

Who said anything about his physical decline? After the Cotto fight he completely shut down both Robert and Saul and while a tough fight still clearly beat Marcos. The next time they fight (assuming it happens) Floyd will win easier that the first fight.

is floyd gonna make him wear hulk gloves for this rematch or will those be unnaceptable too?

Did Floyd have to use his A game or was still using his B game?:sas1:

Cause if he used his B game, like he always claims,.....he's gonna need some help next time:sas2:

im saying it because im seeing it. last night they were comparing maidana to jesus chavez who mayweather fought in 2001, mayweather stopped chavez and chavez came in almost exactly the same fukking manner, winging wild punches, looking at him from back then and seeing whats going now is like night and day, he struggled with maidana. thats just my opinion, i seriously dont think mayweather will finish out that contract undefeated, i really hope he does, but im not sure.

fighters get old overnight all the time and mayweather is not the exception, he looked old saturday.

Floyd ain't no fukking Roy Jones :camby:

Yeah, i dont know why people keep bringing up that fight.

Floyd didnt start fighting like "Money" Mayweather until the 6th round. The previous 5 rounds, he was doing an AB impersonation by standing in front of Mick Foley attempting to trade with him, and losing on the scorecards imo.

Once he abandoned that, he went on to sweep 6 out of the next 7 rounds:sas2:

Roy fought the best he could against Tarver and that was the result. Floyd didnt fight HIS fight until the 6th round........we all seen what happened after he did that:yeshrug:

I am not saying floyd is roy, but the parallels are definately there, by the time he came down from heavyweight that best ever talk was all over the place after he beat john ruiz. he had that tough fight with tarver and went life and death with him, and the decline was obvious.

the only things i can say is that roy is not fundamentally sound like floyd is, and maidana is definately not a big strong guy like tarver is, but the scores to maidana/floyd being exactly the same, the fact that roy was KTFO 10 years ago this month, the fact that both roy and floyd never got their real due because they made nikkas look like shyt, this whole thing is very similar.

Yall dont have to agree, but i definately see it. im not saying maidana is gonna knock floyd out but at this point, i dont know if floyd will make it out of that contract undefeated.

I think Floyd gamed the public with this performance.:patrice: Now he's gonna cake on a rematch with a guy who the general public really thinks fought an even fight with him.:snoop: Floyd knows there aren't anymore names out there if he's not gonna negotiate with Arum. He won't fight the young beastly nigs(i.e. Porter) because the money don't justify the risk for him at this point.

He was voluntarily going to the ropes from the start of the fight. Maidana was competitive, but not really landing anything clean or effective the whole night. His best shots were illegal ones and he didn't hurt Floyd the whole night. Floyd said he could've boxed, moved, stayed in the middle of the ring and won a boring fight easily. Coming off his Canelo performance, there's nothing to insinuate he couldn't have done that.

I think Maidana's awkwardness made it tough on Floyd to counter in the beginning and Floyd should really make it a point to get off first at times. He wasn't as offensive minded as he should have been, but still clearly beat dude. Roy was in a war for his life with Tarver the 1st fight. There is no parallel at all. Also Roy would've washed Tarver in the 2nd fight if he wasn't so over confident and leaving himself open like he did. He fought that fight like he did the second Griffin fight where he was out to prove a point. Roy came in like a madman and let Griffin land some haymakers on him as well, he just wasn't phased by it.
