I will say this, I do always get slightly bothered by that "college wasn't worth it" crowd .
But I hate when the untalented and mediocre people knock college, I think the "college wasn't worth it" crowd are probably mostly underachievers who really don't have any potential.
I say college isn't worth it...... because it isn't. You can learn all that BS (and note first 2-3 years is worthless) without college. It's ONLY worth it because higher education is a requirement at most places. Outside of that its not. It's superficial for a superficial society. Some of The most intelligent and highest paid and most innovative people have either dropped out of college or never went.
Then again people have different levels of drive... but you only need certs to program and you don't need a stressful (drug abusing) law school to pass the bar. Some states let you practice under an attorney learning real experiences then take the bar. The only field I say school is necessary for is being a doctor or nurse.
School provides a structure for people without discipline to learn new things..and it provides the scam of billions of dollars being paid out for substandard results (on average). The fed gov is eating really good off student loan debt.. as a teenager i knew this shyt. I was willing to risk my life rather than to contribute to that BS and our BS system with my loans or hard earned money.
