science works in 2 ways.
#1. a scientist goes out just observing things and slips up and finds something "oh wow. look at this, let me test this to see if there's a pattern i can find and mark it down as something that happens because of A B or C."

#2.a scientist believes in an idea or has a theory about something, but needs to PROVE IT. then he goes searching for said proof.

#2 way of science is what you are claiming i'm doing. so its okay for science to do this but not for me? once again. mr bias at work. what happened to all that objectivity?

Stop it. One, that's not my argument, so way to strawman me there. Second, your god hypothesis is completely unfalsifiable, and thus completely unscientific. What you think you're doing is nothing like science at all. There is no objective way to confirm that your god is responsible for anything you think it is. nikka, sit down somewhere.

:usure: Now as far as Napoleon's thread getting locked, it was flame bait and he's obsessed. The only thread he makes more than atheist or religious threads are J. Cole hate threads. He's had about 20 different threads to express that exact same view, but more importantly we had agreed to try to keep those type of discussions from dominating the forum. This thread discusses atheism, there are also official threads for Christianity and Islam (I just prefer to let threads die instead of making giants mergers unless they start to reach that level...and Slaimon's stuff isn't worth merging). I kind of lost them with the site switch over, but the point is, the reason that we're unsympathetic to this supposed atheist persecution in HL....is because there isn't any.

Didn't read the thread, but I don't know what I am. I believe in a "creator" but after that, I got nothing. I never really blindly believed in anything, and I'm prone to question existenial shyt since I was in my signle digits. Most monotheistic religions seem too much like faiths of convenience and archaeic for me to follow. I like a lot of eastern philosophy and religion, specifically buddism and taoism, but I wouldn't call myself a follower of those either.

I don't think any threads about religion should be getting closed even if they are flamebait. And that Napoleon thread was flamebait. He basically just said "religious people are dumb," so I can kinda understand why it got closed.

But that 88m3 thread getting closed is just shameful. He posted a newsworthy article.

I honestly don't even comprehend what sort of point you're trying to make (and I don't make excuses, I give explanations of what actually occurred...I prefer not to ignore it entirely like others would have) without clicking on those links. But you know I'm not going to get into this stuff that atheists, agnostics, christians, and everyone other demographic in HL like to get into anymore. You're going to sit here pretend that these posts occurred in a vacuum, and that this thread didn't happen at a time where so many religious threads were happening we debated giving it a sub-forum.... @Brown_Pride . Some people in this very thread encouraged us to "handle it." So all this "wasn't allowed stuff" is false because I straight up deleted a bunch of those anti-atheist threads. For my efforts I got Mowgli PMs about "Don't let them make you demonic friend," and shyt like "I'm letting the atheists in HL bully me around." As a breh, you guys should "ask why" before tossing out accusations. Seeing how this is probably the most open forum on the internet, I can comfortably state that none of us appreciate that insinuation.

88m3 wasn't the problem, it was what that thread became, and of course it got reported.
