GRODT isn't a rookie album, technically. I'll get hate for this but it's not an all time great album to me. It's dope, it's classic, but it's overrated imho. I don't love every song on there, there's filler

I think people love it bc they were younger at the time and it did usher in a new era of street rap after that trash ass r&b ja rule 2002 era.

RD is easily the superior album, lyrically and production-wise. And it's not very close to me.

GRODT was a whole movement tho...that had the entire music industry on lock. 50 was an absolute machine 2003-2005. Speaking about strictly Impact, there arent maybe with A greater impact, it's up there with Doggystyle. Not quite the impact as a Straight Outta Compton, The Chronic or 36 Chambers, but it's still a top 10ish record for overall impact to the game. Conversely, RD doesn't even register for impact, but that doesn't affect its quality.

The Blueprint is a much more comparable album to GRODT

And It Was Written is the apt comparison to Reasonable Doubt.

The world doesn't believe that

GRODT is a classic album
Massacre was fifty chasing for his next in da club big hit rather than just making a dope cohesive album.

Piggy bank was corny
Candy shop was very corny
Disco inferno guilty pleasure for me, but it's not a great track.
Gatman and Robin probably one of the worst 50 songs ever.

If anything it's the Massacre that's had several skippable songs.

Massacre def had filler.

But for example, "position of power" I like more than any song from GRODT (besides maybe many men)

rydah Music, Baltimore Love Thing were fire af too.

In Da Club

If you play that shyt RIGHT NOW in any gathering of Hip Hop fans they will get out their chair.

RD doesn't have a song like that

Neither does a slew of other albums far superior than GRODT....

Does Liquid Swords have a song that's going to get everyone out of their chair? 36 Chambers? Illmatic?

Having a smash single to ignite the dance floor isn't a requisite for a classic album.

The Massacre also had some of the illest songs in his run tho on the flip side. Ski Mask Way, Baltimore Love Thing, Position Of Power, Ryder Musik, etc etc.

Theres not many albums like GRODT. The impact was out of this world. If you weren't there you truly cant understand it. Theres probably not another album that gives me stronger nostalgia vibes. Having said that if we talking quality its RD by a comfortable margin.
