GRODT isn't a rookie album, technically. I'll get hate for this but it's not an all time great album to me. It's dope, it's classic, but it's overrated imho. I don't love every song on there, there's filler
I think people love it bc they were younger at the time and it did usher in a new era of street rap after that trash ass r&b ja rule 2002 era.
RD is easily the superior album, lyrically and production-wise. And it's not very close to me.
GRODT was a whole movement tho...that had the entire music industry on lock. 50 was an absolute machine 2003-2005. Speaking about strictly Impact, there arent maybe with A greater impact, it's up there with Doggystyle. Not quite the impact as a Straight Outta Compton, The Chronic or 36 Chambers, but it's still a top 10ish record for overall impact to the game. Conversely, RD doesn't even register for impact, but that doesn't affect its quality.
The Blueprint is a much more comparable album to GRODT
And It Was Written is the apt comparison to Reasonable Doubt.
