What's the point of getting married in 2013?

I mean, the divorce rates are insane and it doesnt guarantee happiness. Think about it, both sides nowadays usually have their own careers with their own money and are living just fine by themselves. So neither sides do not need to depend on one another unlike 50-60 years ago when marriage was pretty much a necessity to survive.

So again, what's the point of marriage in the this century?

Because people would rather use the negative statistics to justify their inability to form a lasting bond with another human being. It's a deflection. Truth is majority of the people who harp on that are not marriage quality. They aren't even relationship quality. Those are people you should probably steer clear of when it comes to proper nation building. And just a heads up. The poorest race of people in this country marry the least. That's not a coincidence.

People who aren't married are more flaky than people who are. There is nothing stopping you from leaving. You have no legal bound to those relationships.

I don't have any debt. You might. I'm not solely talking about property either. You're broke so you can't understand where I'm coming from.

How about you spend more time reading about estate laws and less time reading rumors on the internet about posters. You might learn something.
