It can be a any kind of sharp change in a person's look or character, for better or worse

I ask because I saw one of my classmates from high school on Saturday. He used to be in my AP classes, and he was pretty smart. We graduated in 2010 and dude looks like he's aged 30 years, so I knew off the bat he was a fiend :snoop:. He said my name at the farmers market and I was like :whoo: because I didn't recognize him

I called his brother afterwards to tell him that I saw him and come to find out that ol' boy is a heavy heroin addict and he hasn't seen him in 1.5 years :dahell:

Sh!t was crazy because ol' boy didn't even used to smoke weed :wow:

My homie was a bully and always like pickin on ppl that are different. One weekend, I couldnt get in contact with my homie. We get to school that morning, and we start pickin on the gay dude. My homie got pissed and demanded us to stop:birdman:

Come to find out, the gay dude gave my homie head the past weekend. They eventually had sex on graduation night

My mother. She used to be the fukkING WORSE...I couldn't stand to be around her, or hear her voice. The most she was back then was a source of amusement; me and my homies were some fools. There's a saying that goes something like "Your best friends are the ones who you laugh with even when nothing's funny." IDK, don't quote me, but that shyt's 100% TRUE. We'd make songs and parodies out of anyone and anything, including each other's families. Good times, good times. Anyways....

She was very verbally/emotionally abusive. She meant well, but she went about shyt the WROOOONG way. Pretty much did all the things a parent shouldn't (comparing me to others, belittling me, name calling, etc.) She even once tried to send me to military school once. One day I decided to go to L.A., and left the house for a good 4 years or so. I only saw her like once or twice that whole time, and the bullshyt started back up again. It wasn't until I finally came back to Fl that I noticed she really changed. She became less ignorant and demanding, and didn't dramatize every little thing. We get along fine now, though we still irk each other every now and then. But that ain't shyt...

My cousin. He was the type of dude that if you asked him to do something or you needed help with anything, he was always there come hell or high water. He was there, but anyway. His brother had a cookout for his daughter for her birthday. Now she lives out of state so he only sees her like once or twice a year. Well, a month before hand, he talked to his brother and his wife about bringing some sides to the cookout. They even told him face to face, "we can't do the cole slaw but we'll cook the baked beans".

So fast forward to 3 days before the cookout. My cousin's daughter and her mother are in town and they go and visit the brother that's supposed to be bringing the sides. My cousin tried to call them but they didn't answer. Ok now this is the day of the cookout and he's calling them about the sides. They still don't answer. So now everyone is there and we got all this meat and no sides. He calls them again and this time they answer. Well how about his brother is needing a ride home from work and the wife said we're not coming because my father is having his retirement dinner.:what:

They knew a month before hand that this was coming and then the guest of honor was at their house 3 days before. If they wasn't going to do it, why did they wait until an hour into the cookout going on that they wasn't going to bring anything. I was just sitting there like :smh: Because anyone that knew his brother knew that since he married ol' girl he just hasn't been the same. And when I say the same, I mean keeping his word to other people.

Now that I have thought about it more, my father changed. I guess it wasn't dramatic since he was always there but growing up I didn't like going to church and he didn't either. My mother would always get me dressed for church and my father would be on the couch sleep or getting ready to look at the football game. The only time he came to church was when I had a speech or play I had to be in at church.

Then when I turned about 13 he started going to his own church. He didn't go all the time but like once a month or so and the times he went I would go like on casual day. Then he started going more often and more often. He started doing stuff at his church like helping with the sign or helping with the PA system. Then he because a deacon and my mother and my brother ended up joining his church. He didn't really change because he wasn't much of a cussor and he doesn't really try to force religion on you. But he did start to go to church and become a deacon so that is a change. :manny:

I know a dude who used to barely scrape by academically in high school and almost didn't graduate on time. All he did in class was sleep or stare at the walls. Some teachers even told him to his face that he wouldn't amount to shyt in life. Once college hit, he suddenly got his shyt together and was on the honor roll every semester. He's now a mechanical engineer making 6 figures, he was easily the most successful member of our class when I saw him at a high school reunion.

physically or mentally?

physically it was my father....he was a mountain of a man, the heart of the family, everybody relying on him and each one of us beating by my fathers drum (it was a good thing because he was a good guy and a good provider)...then he got pancreatic cancer, and in almost 9 months he passed away, time during which i saw him reduced to a shadow of a man, a legume without hope ;in the later stages not being able to even shave his own beard, needing my help for everything...for a 22-23 year old college student shyt was mind blowing....we had all out family structure rewired, good thing we regrouped with me brother and mother
