I'm watching this AFI tribute to John Williams and aside from reminding me how much of a genius he is, it got me thinking: are his superman and Elfman's batman the last great themes in comic book flicks?
Don't get me wrong, I love what Zimmer did with the joker's theme and think that's great but I'm talking strictly heroes not villains. Han's superman theme is dope but I wouldn't call it great but maybe that's because of Williams.
We've gotten so many great comic book flicks in the past decade but most of the themes are and barely memorable.
Or am I wrong and missing something?
