Dead Presidents and Higher Learning should be in the top 5. People constantly underrate them. Paid in Full should also be in there. I like Juice but wherever people place it, New Jack City should be above it.

Dead Presidents was so well done. I love that movie.

It depends on what your taste is. I just always felt Boyz N the hood had that real ness about it and it touched more on social issues. The first time I saw it as a kid, I got emotional when Ricky died. But never really felt the same about Caine (maybe Sharif). That's how real it was. The ending as well deep, especially the conversation Doughboy had with Tre.

Not saying the Hughes brothers aren't great - they're phenomenal. But the realism in John Singleton's movies gives him the edge. The characters in his movies are relatable. Lucky and Justice in Poetic Justice. Jody in Baby Boy. Dj in Hustle & Flow.

Dead president is a classic tho. Big fan of Bokeem Woodbine and Larenz Tate.

I feel you, I respect that.

The coming home party for doughboy when his mom was doting on him, little doughboy going to the store and not coming back when they were kids, little doughboy fighting for ricky's ball back from the older dudes knowing he was gonna get washed but knowing thats his little bro and hes gotta do it regardless, trey walking to his girls with all those helicopter lights regular, not to mention ricky getting shot for no good reason of course menace had a lot more rah rah shyt in there that IMO didn't "hit" as hard for me
