I think this might be the one.
Big built in fan base from the game, A+ team behind it, should be launching right after the Walking Dead has finished its run so it can fill that zombie void and all the angry youtubers mad about the 2nd game will drive engagement as well.
They can easily market it as The Walking Dead but with the HBO prestige stamp on it and siphon off a bunch of that audience.

yall just namin anything now... Someone gonna say Chicago Fire soon. Nothing close to Game of Thrones... Nothing...
I have full confidence in all of the above primarily cuz it’s on HBO...it just boils down to how the audience will receive it...I remember there being a lot of initial hype for GoT bcuz of fans of martin’s books and the world he created that made me want to watch the show off rip...and when ned got his shyt chopped off shyt went insane...martin’s characterization was so deep that it took several books/seasons for the main protagonists/antagonists to be established...and the main story wasn’t compromised to “protect” characters who were fan favorites...I honestly don’t think we’ve seen a television show that was so well fleshed-out (at least the first 4 seasons)...damn as I type this I’m already thinking TLOU will be a great show just not on the same crazy level as GoT

i have confidence also but it will have to run a couple seasons at least to reach top tier pop culture status. That's around the time casuals start watching..
Game of Thrones had muthafuccas who hate fantasy elements watching cause everyone was.. People hate being left out.

If prestige means GOT level fanfare then we rarely have prestige TV. Fanfare doesn't = quality.
I want this to be HBO’s flagship show so bad, but I just don’t see how in its third season.
Gonna be a while before we get anything of GOT’s caliber....the series premiere pulled in 2.2mil viewers alone, then 3.04mil to close out the first season. Anticipation levels were ridiculously high despite it being new at the time.
The generational talents only come around every so often. Surely another great will come through again. Props to HBO for fielding that .500+ team daily in the meantime though.
