I just realized in a week ill been posting on sohh/coli for more than half my life... scary
I'll be 23

Why there so many old people on The Coli
when we were young. I was 19 and now

Honestly, as dark as this is going to sound, but most Coli posters are 30+ because our age group came of age in an era where no one gave a fukk about us and we found some semblance of solace online. 
We sure as hell weren't finding solace from our elders who labelled us lazy even though we were the most educated generation of all time. Those of us who are 30+ came of age when there was no jobs, the economy hit the lowest point in generations and hardcore drug abuse became widespread across all demographics even worse than the crack epidemic. Also, message boards are kinda outdated as a social media format online. Message boards are the CD's of social media. Chat rooms are like the cassettes or A-Traks of social media. The younger generation probably even communicates differently from us 30 something's. Twenty something's too busy on Tinder, Instagram and Snapchat to post on messageboards.
