What’s going to stop them from halting every time?
I don't know the answer to that one the general sentiment is that they would be so overleveraged that they would want to Hurry up and buy"

There was once also talk of if they fail a margin call an algorithm buys back the shares by increasing the price until all positions are closed. I'm not sure of the validity of that anymore as they clearly get to do what they want.

Alphabet boys know how deep rooted the crimes are. At this point GME splitting is just showing the world to what extent they've stooped to.

There will be a vote for approval. What’s crazy, and something about which I was mistaken, is that the value of the shares will not be split. So, let’s say you have 20 shares, and it’s a 5:1 split when the price is $200.

You will now have 100 shares at $200.

:mindblown:
Not sure if it works like that. Every company under the sun would be offering splits to increase their market cap.

Using your example, The Total value of the stocks will remain the same. =$200
Before split $200 /20 shares = $10 per share
After split $200 / 100 shares = $2 per share

After the split GME will be more affordable for purchase ala AMC while rewarding current stock holders with more shares.

For those confused about how this will help trigger the squeeze:

GME plans to issue a stock dividend to those holding official shares. Anyone holding shorts or synthetic shares will have to find shares or close their positions. Since we know the shorts have been printing naked positions, the only way they can locate shares is to buy them from us, which will push the price to astronomical highs since we aren’t selling. Now, the shorts will probably say “fukk It” and keep trying to short the stock with synthetic shares, which GME is anticipating with this move. When they do that, since the float is locked and the dividend has been issued, GME will have justification for recalling the shares and forcing the short positions closed. Hedges are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

This is the end game.

This is incorrect.

Theres 3 separate concepts.

There’s a “cash dividend”
A “stock dividend”
And a “stock split dividend”

A “stock split dividend” is just the formal way of saying “stock split”

This guy is mistaken in viewing the “stock split dividend” as a “stock dividend”

Two very different things.

Ken Griffin is on this month’s Forbes cover, profiled in a story about him navigating the stormy waters of finance in the midst of Ukraine, inflation and other disruptive events. The piece is a clear PR job, a way to rehabilitate his image in advance of SHTF. Why do I feel like this GME/AMC fight, or just the battle with hedges at the macro level, is the biggest story not being reported by the media?

Evil, bootleg Bond villain piece of shyt.

That’s what was originally thought, which is still great for retail, especially those on the fence who balked at its current price. But the actual dollar amount is not going to change. The shares we hold will increase, but the price will remain at its current high point, unchanged. And, again, I don’t know how they’re doing that. I’m just relating what the general consensus is among more learned apes than me.

Breh. It don’t work like that. At all.

Any “learned” apes saying this are mistaken.

Why are you downplaying this? This is literally the match that will ignite MOASS. Maybe try to be more positive?

:francis:
I’m not downplaying it. I literally said it could be the catalyst.

Just giving people the correct expectations.

Your 1x amount of stocks will not just turn into 5x at the same price. That’s crazy.

People just saw the word “dividend” and their imaginations went wild.

Watch the video I posted. It’s still bullish AF, but not the way some people are promoting it.
