Basketball is the superior sport and the NBA is more entertaining overall but the NFL does a better job of presenting games and moments as big events

Either way I’m watching both :manny:

Watching a game like Lions vs Vikings last weekend, NFL to me is superior overall.

I was hype when Curry was doing what he was, but now that everyone does it and the new meta being "Curry, but taller" and I can't get into it as much. Boston scored 89 points on three pointers opening day. Basketball is close to optimized, I don't think there's much more room to grow.

For football if you optimize the passing, the passing defense optimizes so when a team changes the meta to run offense defenders start getting trucked. I enjoy watching the theoretical setup (formation) and checking if the actual experiment runs. Sounding like an ultra nerd, but when the ball is snapped it's like connecting a power source to the circuit, seeing it's response and checking if it behaves as expected. That's how I've looked at it lately and why I've been paying more attention to the game overall when it comes to offensive line vs defensive line play.

At this point - both products are pretty unwatchable and bad.

I don’t bother with the NBA until April. I’m down to one or two NFL games a week.

I know it’s easy to dunk on the NBA, but football fans have to admit that the NFL is a watered down joke of a product with the rule changes geared towards the offense.

NBA product is definitely the worst its ever been.

NFL, if it wasnt for betting and fantasy, would not be as popular as well.

Every play matters in an NFL game. A team can go 0-17 and the majority of the games will have still been a watchable product up to a late point.

Basketball ball players take whole games off. Basketball only matters in the final 3-4 minutes of the game.

Peak NBA (2010s) was better than anything the NFL put out including the regular season. Nowadays the NFL regular season is way better than the NBA regular season but the NBA playoffs is still better than the NFL as a whole.

College Football lowkey . The craziness, the upsets. The NFL doesnt have the star dominant players. Use to be Devin Hester,Ed Reed,LOB,Julius Peppers they were just different etc. Too many mediocre QB's,Running Back position fading away, penalties .The NBA is a story line league. We done seen every possible dunk,3 pointer, layup. I do think that NBA Cup was pretty dope. But outside of trade deadline, all star snubs and someone scoring 70+ points, load management there is nothing left .

OP did you enter "NBA complaints" into Chat GPT?

Whatever is on at the time is better :manny:. I know it sounds ridiculous but you can like both.

No I know that. I’m just asking which is better. I never thought the day would come I’d choose nfl

To answer the question is the NFL no doubt the NBA is boring no rivalries stars sit out no defense. I don't even bother with the NBA until the playoffs I watch more Illinois high school basketball in the Chicagoland area than the nba
What about the fact that it's constant scoring? People watch sports to see the scoring, basketball is just the most consistent goals scored. At the same time, it also broadcasts the most finesse and poetry in motion out of all the sports.

NFL. The games are closer. The parity argument is dead though. Patrick Mahomes sits at 6-0, and I have no reason to believe the order will change anytime soon. Even if another AFC team rises, it would probably be Lamar and th ravens. So essentially, it’ll be the next Qb on the rising GOAT list. So the any given sunday narrative feels tired and untrue in this era more than ever. NFC is Eagles/49ers show. With Detroit peeking their head in and Vikings I don’t trust. Same script, different year, yet the product is more exciting than the NBA. Admittedly.
