I'm not gonna lie I love BP he is my favorite avenger but I'm not gonna sit here and front like BP was more poppin than Spidey or Wolverine when I was a fukking kid, glad to see him get his shine but these bandwagon fans are atrocious and they're fukking it up. What will happen tho is that this movie is gonna do for the character what happened to Iron Man, take him from that B+ level hero popularity to that household name A++ level and thats a GOOD thing

for who? marvel?

for who? marvel?

I mean if your a fan of Black superheroes like me and wanna see them get more shine then it's a great thing. There's a HUGE list of Black comic book characters, that would make great movies, and black folk are severely underrepresented in Scifi/Fantasy, which happens to be the most profitable genre of movies if you look at the trends of the last 20 years. More representation in these kind of movies opens up lanes for more Black multi millionaires in Hollywood and more creative power. shyt like 12 years a slave ain't gonna make a billion dollars at the box office, but Black Panther can. You can always say, "well cacs own marvel" which is true, but that seems like a cheap cop out and overall just a negative mindset, this movie might not be the killing blow, but it IS drawing first blood towards the end of white dominated images of superhuman God like beings marketed to our societies kids.

I’m not gonna comment about the hashtag but there is definitely black interests served by the success of this movie. If it breaks box office records and is critically acclaimed, black actors and film makers can demand higher pay.
The actors in the movie can, sure. But black actors in general? Off ONE movie?? :heh:

Y’all putting this movie too high on a pedestal

You have to remember that the studios green light all these projects. YES one movie can make a difference. Ain’t never been a movie with a majority black cast and director gross $1 Billion. Studio heads are nothing but investment bankers. If POC vote with their wallets and we get a sizable chunk of the other races, this becomes a precedent that “yes... a majority black film can make $1 Billion”...

You have to remember Get Out... Moonlight etc all were critical successes as well!

This is the exact type of shyt that I'm talking about. Shea-butter "woke" people jumping on the bandwagon going overboard. This nikka openly doing it. :snoop:

People need to just be happy the movie coming out and be happy to take your kids. But it by no means, is some monumental achievement like that.

Exactly. There’s never been one, and if this move does it, that doesn’t mean anything. It’s still a Marvel movie and most of its viewership is coming off the strength of that. Nerds were going to see this movie reguardless because it will play into the next Avengers movie.

These rich studios aren’t rich for no reason. If anything all this shows is that comic book movies do well which we already knew :heh:

I think some of the overboard reactions are trolls.

Especially ones who say no cacs for the first week of the movie release.
