1. Always shower before you shave. A dirty face is going to lead to bumps. Hot water opens up your pores and softens your beard.
2. Use a sensitive skin shaving gel. Gillette and Nivea make good ones.
3. Lather up the areas you intend to shave immediately after jumping out of the hot shower. Even before you dry off. You don’t want your pores closing before the gel sinks in.
4. Disposable blades are gobbich. I’ve never had an issue with Gillette’s reusable blades. Just make sure you have a clean cup of hot water while shaving to regularly loosen the build up on the blade while shaving. Whip the blade in the cup of water, then rinse the blade off and continue shaving.
5. Use a sensitive skin aftershave lotion.
6. Clean your blade if you intend to reuse it. Make sure all the hair and shaving gel are washed of. An old toothbrush is good for this. Dirty blades equal bumps.
Dont take shortcuts when shaving or use cheap blades. Your face will thank you.
