Dapped u cuz u make good points.

I don't overestimate tho because right now isn't what matters... the future is what matters. Things are always planned over the course of years.. Kayne might plan his career a year at a time. but the higher the stakes the longer the stretch of time you plan things for. So while Kanye might no influence that majority... he'll influence enough people in his 15+ year run to create artists just like him... and that small amount of kanyes grows ever so larger.

That's just how pop culture works though, isn't it? It's constantly referring back to and influencing itself.

Another thing is that the only people who are ever, arguably, outside of ideology are probably psychotics. Ultimately everyone's thoughts and choices are determined by ideology. The moment you think you're outside of its reach is actually the moment you're most ensnared by it. This is why a lot of illuminati type conspiracy shyt ultimately supports the ruling system, politicians and the rich have nothing to worry about if people are out chasing secret societies and reptilians.

They don't create the image... they take advantage and use it.

I'm definitely not saying to use things as an excuse... but to recognize things. If you can't identify what's going on around you then you are bound to be victimized by it. Lord Jamar wasn't the first person to identify this kind of fukkery and Omar Epps just was emulating stupidity because of lack of common sense. It's the overall point and message that's being put out there that's being attacked.

If you sit by idley like nothing is going on then nothing will change. If I never knew mcdonalds burgers was killing me I'd work out get brolic and think I was healthy... yet I'd be unhealthy as ever. You can't blame McDonalds because they're a corporation and they'll do what it takes to maximize profit because that's the end goal. I'll blame myself for not asking the right questions and just eating any old thing. Once I do that and everyone is aware.. Mcdonalds will follow suit. Everyone is to blame... especially ourselves we deserve the MOST blame. That's why there's some of this outrage... bc ppl look up to these rich black men and think they know what's going on.. they don't.

I just wish people wouldn't just write things off because it sounds absurd or too sinister to be true. Just because the average person doesn't think like that.. doesn't mean there's not someone perverse enough to do just that. When you have a crazy end goal in mind you can do anything to reach it.

Example is the refined sugar industry back in the days.. these dudes had scientists straight up lie for decades about the harms of sugar.... then when there was pressure they created artificial sugars... then when the govt wouldn't approve artificial sugars they put their own ppl in govt and approved artificial sugars even tho it killed any animal they tested it on.

I think your argument would have more legs *in my eyes* if it was accompanied by feminine actions to accompany the androgynous aesthetic. And I don't think Black people are outraged because they are self-aware and think there are bad implications in what these rich black men are doing, but because it goes against the norms thats been ingrained in us since we came up off the slave plantations. It's just more noise and confusions while we ignore the real issues plaguing our culture.

I get your sugar anecdote but sugar isn't malleable like aesthetic and content. The sugar companies *have* to sell those harmful products in that form, but entertainment can be sold in various forms. I don't think theres a conspiracy in entertainment to single out Black people but that our American culture is destructive, heavily processed and fleeting in all facets. This is the 21st century unfortunately and expect even more non-traditional, absurdist trends becoming more normalized.

Omar Epps is a cornball follower. Ok, next. That's a few seconds assessment and then I move on but no us Blacks can't do that. We'd rather turn c00nery like this into week long discourses. That discourse becomes eyeballs which means money to some capitalistic mind.

Yes and media programming is a part of pushing ideology, they go hand in hand.

If you were to do research on entertainment media you'd be surprised as to what you'd find. You'd be surprised at where the lines blur between corporate entities and governmental agencies. Sure you make valid points about American culture... but why is that.. is that some kind of accident? No... we're talking about the most powerful country this earth has ever seen with think-tanks composed of the best and brightest from the four corners of the globe... there are no accidents. Sure black entertainment can be sold in various forms... but just because you can't think of a reason that it has to be sold in this form doesn't mean others don't have their reasons. Let's be real you think pushing familial values and such is more beneficial all around than pushing materialism and etc? Sure everyone is affected... but those from broken homes will get it the worst..and you already know who that is. BTW the Sugar companies never HAD to do anything... it's something they came up with to turn a profit..and when they saw that it was good there was no way in hell they would give that up.

What norms on slave plantations bruh... rape, death, murder, starvation, subjugation and attacks on the psyche? That's just it, none of these are black peoples norms on this continent or the mother continent... these are other people's norms. The new norms are all because of external factors that created these conditions...and those conditions did make some people self-aware.. since those same people don't just talk about this but other subjects as well...while it might not be in the healthiest of manners... it's something. It's just not enough...empty talk with no action is just emptiness.

:yeshrug:Me typing a rebuttal is useless though I see your POV. Black people will continue to engage and promote fukkery and c00nery while being the ironic joke of White people because we lack clarity and perspective.

Yeah sounds like he was scrambling after seeing some not so favorable responses. Sad he was too proud to just admit he made a poor choice in clothing or I guess from his prospective a poor choice in how to represent his history.
