What makes African-American churches (good ones specifically) is the gospel choirs, instrumentation, preachers are charismatic, and if it it’s small/mid size the community feel is present.

Well, we have inherent carryover from our ancestors' spiritual practices. Like everything else about us, we retained what we could and applied it to our new environment and made something unique.

That is the reason our Churches, and the way we worship is different, there are many "Africanisims" in the Black American Church.

the hallmarks of black american christianity is the charismatic, holy ghost focused theology with extremely refined gospel music traditions. liberation theology was extremely important but has been waning in favor of prosperity preaching

Do you think the African influence played a large factor? I practice Santeria and a lot of those Baptist worship services look like our Tamboure's .
