Opposable thumbs so they can build shyt but are MUCH more athletic. Other animals would be dangerous predators but claws, paws etc., limit manual dexterity and the ability to create tools and weapons.

They would still be thousands of years behind us as far as innovation, we would ban them from our educational institutions and segregate them from regular society.

Take away any and all rights and actively harrass so they'd stay subservient.

If all types of ants could set aside their differences and even teach eachother to believe in suicide tactics we would be annihilated.

Think of the type of ants there are. Bullet ants, fire ants, flying ants and they live in every continent except Antarctica ironically.

The only thing saving you from an onslaught of ants is a prolonged serious winter which is less likely with climate change on the track. Within a year they could destroy California. They could try and smoke them with poison but they cant guarantee gas masks for the whole population and some ants may have some resistance to the poison.
