The only thing of interest in this series of articles was the analysis of PBC so far as a business venture.
And as much as a lot of you dudes won't like to admit it, the criticism of PBC's soft matchmaking is a one of the major issues with the whole experiment. While some of the lackluster on paper fights may have turned out to be entertaining/quality scraps, that doesn't do anything to help PBC or boxing in general.
Al should have come out the gate with a welterweight tournament featuring his top guys to generate buzz and attract the viewers that PBC needed to be seen as a true success for networks.
PBC also is suffering from schizophrenic promoting...in a perfect world Al, Schaeffer and Oscar would bury all of their respective hatchets and Golden Boy would go back to being the promoter of record for PBC's fighters. Even if you hate Oscar you have to admit that the marriage of Golden Boy and Haymon produced some good ass boxing when things were copacetic.
The announcing has been mediocre too. We have enough of a sample size of all the different commenting people that 2 steady crews (an A squad for the Big Four networks and a B squad for Bounce and Spike) for all of PBC's cards could be formed featuring the guys who actually are good at their job.
And PBC needs a charismatic face of the company. Boxing loves big personalities and for PBC to not have anyone that can be looked at as the public face of the company completely undermines everything that Al is trying to do.
