What was your reaction to it being revealed the Rikishi Ran Down Stone cold?

Before the reveal, I remember there being all sorts of crazy rumors of who it was gonna be and when it ended up being Rikishi I remember thinking (hoping) that it was just a swerve and they would reveal the REAL cultprit later but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

It was a huge flop and was really detrimental to Rikishi's career, he never recovered from this and never regained the heat and popularity he had beforehand.

I can't decide which was a worse reveal, this, or Vince as the higher power.

I liked it the first night because of the promo... thought it was goin' somewhere... but by the following week, I didn't give a fk anymore. Blah.

In hindsight, they should have just waited a month and have it be Billy Gunn doing it for Triple H/DX. Especially since they just ended pivoting back to Triple H anyway. Doubly works with the "it was the Rock's car" thing as he was beefing with him around the time it happened and they could've said he stole Rock's keys and wanted to frame him.

They were never gonna do it with Billy tho'... after he flopped big time in '99, wasn't no way they were re-heating him and tryin' to push him as a heel again.

They tried to propel a midcarder to big time main event with the move. Something you all bytch about today that they don't do enough of. I didn't mind it.

I liked it, they just needed to give him new attire. How we supposed to take him seriously when hes still wrestling in a thong? could've went with the umaga look minus the face paint. But yeah I digress rikishi as a heel was pretty entertaining to me.

In hindsight, since they pivoted back to Triple H, they could've had someone from DX/Chyna/a Heel tryna earn favor to do it instead of Rikishi, but at the time it was kinda interesting to me to see how far he went for the family until the Triple H swerve happened.

I was all for the Rikishi heel turn... but when they made HHH the "mastermind" of the entire plot downgrading Rikishi to his lackey it ruined him and the storyline in general to me

Well they did retcon it by making it being Cripple H as the puppeteer of it. Like when Madelyne Pryor went wild in the X men and then they had it being Sinister pulling strings from day one.

Remember they kept trying to sell it as the Rock profiting as becoming a bigger star as his reason..as if he wasn't outpopping Austin leading to Survivor Series and getting highest rated segments on a historical level.
