The early 90's was an extension of the 80's. Everything in the 80's for kids were weird and majestic. Watch the Never Ending Story and tell me that movie was not weird and majestic, and it was mainly aimed at children. That was a great time, anything could happen or be, imagination gone wild. They don't make them like that anymore.

Yeah, cartoons back in the day were made to expand imaginations and to push the norms to its very limit. The 80s movies had mad blood and gore in them, and the 90s cartoons (Batman TAS, Gargoyles, etc.) were made for older kids and they contain mad death, violence, love/hate themes, and so on.

So many of these movies from that era. Labryrinth and this odd/creepy reboot come to mind...

Yep all that shyt was errie yet beautiful in its own right. Obviously the technology was not that great compared to now, but just because 3-D makes a movie pretty does not automatically make the story better. The best thing about that era was the stories that was synonymous with using your imagination.
