He flat refused to put over Trips to make another guy. They had to use Foley as a transition.
Also never once put over The Rock for the belt, and turned heel in 2001 to prolong his run on top instead of stepping aside for The Rock.

I think the “explanation” was they didn’t want Jesse Ventura posing with a heel in Triple H to end the PPV so they gave it to Mick and have Trips go over the next night.
