Why do nikkas like gears of war? I've only seen it played one time, and I did not like what I saw

Here's my take:
The price tag alone for the PS3 pretty much killed it initially before it even got started. Sony was cocky and was force-feeding us things we didn't want or weren't ready for at the time (Blu-Ray, a media center with a web browser, etc). Not unlike Microsoft was with the XBOX one. They weren't in tune with the consumer. Also, if I remember correctly, the only major exclusives they had near launch were titles like Killzone and Resistance (both of which weren't well known at the time).
XBOX 360 on the other hand was cheaper, so everyone was copping, leading to most people paying for XBOX Live. This created an ecosystem where all your friends played multiplayer games like 2K and Call of Duty on 360 while Microsoft kept adding features over time. Because of the explosion of online play and most people getting the cheaper 360, FPS like COD, Halo, Gears, etc were getting all the hype on 360.
Graphically, the jump from PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 was crazy. 2K6 and Call of Duty 2
Sidenote: Y'all talking about how much the PS3 was reselling for...how about the Wii?? That thing was ridiculously scarce. I remember it was going for $1000 like 6 months after it came out

It was bitter sweet for me, had to leave sony behind cuz they was bullshytting when they annouced the price. But 360 and gears, wireless controllers, xbox live, hard drives (i was coming from ps2) and xbox market place. shyt got appreciated real quick, just about every one i know had 360. Economy was going down the tube too, niccas was not trying to spend that doe on a ps3 for resistance, killzone,motorstorm and heavenly sword.
shyt was like bizarro world, honestly. Even sony commercials got weird (still remember the melting baby commercial).

Every generation had a ton of hype as far back as I can remember to when Turbo graphics 16 was released.
Back on topic: I was hyped as hell when the ps3 came out but it wasn't until Gears of War came out when I started to regret my purchase of the ps3.

It was all hype and jokes everyone slept on the wii and they ended up crushing buildings sale wise....Sony e3 was atrocious 600 dollar system and the ceo said to work some overtime to get it lmao... Something about attack the crab in its weak spot and Ridge racer were some forum inside jokes xbox was sold out and gears was the first game that felt like next gen and had everyone hype although call of Duty 2 and King Kong looked good not gonna lie wii sports was fun as fukk
