That's a good question, I haven't ever thought to ask. I have watched and loved movies since I was a child, and I watched a lot, very young, a lot of older classics, adventure movies, horror movies, cowboys, pirates, crime thrillers, war movies. Plus, whatever new was on PPV channels, new releases from Blockbuster, old action movies from the 80's, all the Seagal stuff, Jackie Chan, Rumble in the Bronx. I am sure I watched a lot of bad movies in those times, but whether I objectively knew it or not is interesting. I am not sure when you develop a palette and range to grade movies on.

As a kid you kind of take the good withe bad, and can't quite objectively state what was good or bad. And since going to the theater in itself was so fun, I think it was harder to judge, because I for sure saw bad movies in the theaters. Armageddon may have been objectively bad, but as a kid, we loved it. Cutthroat Island was hated by critics, but I loved, and think it is an objectively good movie. Screwed and Small Soldiers come to mind in 1998 when I would have been about 12, that I think I began to realize weren't good. There was some wrestling one with David Arquette in 1999 that I remember thinking was horrible. I also remember hating Castaway as a 14 year old, but is that really a bad movie? One I can recall just being painfully bored in was Apollo 13, in 1995 or so, I was like 10 years old, all this boring space shyt.

I can say that as I started going to the theater more it was easier. Blues Brothers 2000 was one where even with all the comforts of theater food with a friends Mom and family, nachos and candy, sodas and slushies, was hard to sit all the way through.
