Elaborate please

KutMasta Kurt Interview: Producer Reflects on Career & Kool Keith Legacy

second page, but the whole interview is good. clearly kurt and keith weren't on the same page because they had these little things to say about each other in interviews in 2016/17

"I was trying to tell Keith, around the Masters of Illusion era, when MF Doom was starting to gain steam, I was like, ‘He took your spot, man. That was your spot.’ Keith was like, ‘I don’t want that spot! MF Doom doesn’t get any bytches.’"

He was right but man he could have capitalized on his brand in the era.

For some pretty rare kool keith, check out the KHM album. It's a collabo project Kool Keith, Jacky Jasper (H Bomb), and Marc Live.

Fun fact, Marc Live is Ice T's friend who made appearances on the Ice T's reality show with Coco

my thoughts on Kool Keith are highly unusual. the guy has a TON of material. most of it, I do not like.

however, Critical Beatdown is a CLASSIC album, I still play it today, but I play the deluxe version that includes those singles and original versions that were not on the original release. Kool Keith's vocals on that album are not only astonishing but words cant describe how influential it was in changing the rap styles, particluarly with his on-beat off-beat multi cadence flow. I am a HUGE Ultramag/Kool Keith fan based off that ONE album alone! Also love Funk Your Head Up and Four Horsemen. I am not as big of a Kool Keith fan as a solo artist, but has has had a solid discography.

I loved Dr. Octagon, it was a surprising release to me when it dropped. Cenobites was good. Most of his Kutmaster Kurt stuff was good, like Diesel Truckers, Masters of Illusion, etc...but Sex Style is my favorite solo album. Big Time (Ultra) was good. He dropped like 3 albums last year. Also he works with Ray West. Most notably LuvNY.

He has a ton of music, a lot of it I dont fukk with but there was a radio dj that recently ranked the top 5 MC's from each borough. this guy doesnt give a damn about popular opinion so I have no problem with his lists. He ranked KGR as #1 out of Queens. Sean Price as #1 out of BK. Long Island - Rakim of course.

His BX top 5 was, Kris, Ricky D, Pun, Lord Finesse, and Kool Keith

also, you see a lot of indy artists now putting out an album a month. Keith was the first to start that wave too. at one point he was the most successful indy artist in the world, right after Dr. Octogon. he still stays busy releasing material and dude is damn near 60.

Absolutely, there was definitely a time where Keith was the most prolific rapper ever. Not so sure now with how much material rappers put out these days, but the amount of material Keith has out there is still crazy.
