And don't even get me started on The Colony. A terrible, cartoon-esque, post-apocalyptic role playing show....Somehow this bullshyt got two seasons.

I like Pawn Stars. People used to complain that the history channel was the Hitler channel because all they used to show/talk was WWII and the Nazis.

It's hard to explain. It DOES sound very cool...and the build-aspects aren't that bad (They build things like showers, little transport vehicles, solar panels for energy sources, etc). This aspect of the show is okay. The annoying thing is how the build aspects affect the power dynamics. This is a fake scenario, and Discovery obviously has people on the set explaining to people how to come up with things that they otherwise wouldn't think of/don't have the expertise to do. So basically, people that are mechanics and shyt end up becoming the de-facto leaders.
What makes the show really dumb is the role-playing, "reality" aspects. The "surviving" group is supposed to pretend that they are in some kind of apocalyptic society...so there are "raiders" that come by and shyt....obviously as this is a television program, nobody can actually hurt one another (The "raiders" are just hired actors of course). But you still get all the dramatic shyt, and people trying to act threatening and shyt....
And of course, the show has all of the other problems that regular "reality" shows have. Obvious forced storylines. People acting completely irrational for no reason. Just the overall ridiculous of the entire thing...laid above a Fallout story....
I dunno, I watched it so I'm apart of the problem. I'd still like to think that Discovery is better than this though.
