I think all they had to do was drop dope music and whoever pressed the go button on the last Q album was a fool. I did like the last Soul album but with his theme he had it was poorly presented

This is sad as hell to see this thread was made in 2016. The only explanation that makes sense is either Top dawg is a dumbass and thinks they still need outdated Single + album rollouts, or he has his hands in their pockets and it doesn’t even make same sense for them to put music out bc contractually Top would take all the money.

Soul (and jay rock) likely have deals that would require them to sell like it’s the early 00s in order for them to recoup. And of course, they aren’t doing that. So what’s the point in making music. Might even go into the red due to studio time and paying producers . Probably can’t event tour without him getting an egregious cut. SZA likely in the same boat .

Sad as hell considering how good other rappers are doing who gained fame threw star affiliations . Currensy built an Indy empire after branching off from wayne, JID from Cole, big Sean-Kanye, etc. Top should be fuking ashamed
