REASON 3: Jackson once brought Steph Curry to his church and “healed” his sprained ankle with magic oil. He then made Curry jump up and down to prove that it worked.

:gucci: church people are crazy

Did it work? Cause last time I checked he hasn't had any major ankle issues.

The Brian Scalabrine firing I think still haunts him. That shyt was weird.
That shyt was Scalabrine's fault and he admitted it. Dude didn't like the way Jackson was coaching so he refused to talk to Jackson. How many assistant coaches had the audacity to disrespect the man that hired them like that?

I think the underperforming as a coach with a team that won ring the following year is reason number one

Reason number two is the bible thumping. MJ's overtly religious tone puts him at odds with bay area culture, for sure.....and modern day sports culture in general.

Mike Pence said something recently that I agree with " people talking the loudest about tolerance have NO tolerance for those with traditional christian values".

I dont think he underperformed per se, the team was still just not quite there.

I mean when Luke Walton and Mike Brown took thw Warriors didnt miss a beat. You can say its Kerrs system, but he had no prior coaching experience and Steph and Klay were already bombing like crazy under Mark Jackson

“Traditional Christian values” have no place in a basketball organization, let alone the government. fukk Mike Pence. Do that shyt on your own time.

Above the fray.

Had they won a single ring under Kerr..you can say that they weren't quite there with MJ and that Kerr won with his players.
For example Gruden won a ring in Tampa Bay with a team assembled and developed under Tony Dungy.

But since Ker has taken over, they've gone to the finals every year....even before KD

I expected/predicted Kerr to fall flat on his face as a coach, because he was nondescript as a GM, and never coached before. I was wrong and he opened up that offense and the rest of the league is still trying to figure GSW out. We both remember loaded teams from the past, with great shooters that didn't win anything.

In Jackson's case, it was the bible thumping that has made him the odd man out. I think the current commissioner Silver is gay, and the current media climate is LBGT friendly. A person of faith could live in the current sports environment, but not an over the top dude like Jackson.

I agree that personal beliefs shouldn't enter professional space, but some segments of gay community, perhaps out of revenge for being rejected by parents/church, are super hostile towards religious people. to the extent that now, they are the ones in the closet. Imagine that.
