Batman is the best hands down. Worst...I go Fantastic Four with Ghost Rider just behind that.

they're kinda impossible to compare though aren't they? there's really nothing even remotely similar about either series.

the only 2 movies that feel similar imo were begins and asm1. in spirit those kinda felt like the same movie albeit centered around their respective hero.

and if i'm comparing them i'm giving the edge to asm1:manny:

well, i'm comparing two things:

1. How much I enjoyed them / how entertaining they are
2. How true to the [any adaptation] comic they are

So, If I were to stackrank all of them

Spiderman
The Dark Knight
ASM2
Spiderman 2
Batman
ASM
Batman Begins
TDKR
Batman Returns [this is really overrated]
Batman Forever
Spiderman 3
Batman and Robin

all due respect i don't see why faithfulness to the source material should be a discussion point. it has little baring on how good or bad a movie is. every single batman movie has taken a giant shyt on the source material in one way or another. movies are movies and comics are comics.

and i'm sorry you don't really dig returns like that cause for me dare i say it's arguably the greatest batman movie of them all. (emphasis on arguably)

The source material thing is more about how much it 'feels' like the source material, not exactly the accuracy to the comic STORY.

If this is unclear, good examples of how much a movie felt like the comic are Amazing Spiderman 2, Superman Returns [those 2 are probably the best at it ever], The Dark Knight, Superman 1, GOTG

Bad examples are Ghost Rider, Ironman 3, Thor 2, and Both of the Wolverine Movies [my god, if he didn't have "The Look" those would be the worst adaptations ever]. Personally i thought DOFP was the first x-men movie that really felt true to it; it really felt like an X-Men Mission like we'd read or see on the cartoon.

I agree with this. Give me something that's true to the characters and feels like I'm reading a comic as opposed to something that's slavishly committed to the source material to the detail

i don't think i'm on the same page as you cause it looks like you have a real specific view of it. i feel you on asm2 but not on superman returns.

plus i'll be honest i was never huge into comics. i've probably read less than 5 comics in my lifetime. as a kid i was mainly big into the cartoons (and i collected all the marvel cards too) so my knowledge and exposure stemmed from that.

it really all stems on what your definitive versions of the characters are. somewhere out there is a 15 year old kid who's definitive version of the x-men is the 2000 movie... but to any of us that probably sounds like sacrilege. so while we probably went into that movie looking for something that brought us back to the 90's cartoon the new generation of kids were just soaking it in.
