Sterling Sharpe averaged 85 catches, 1162 yards, and 9 TDs a year for his 7 year career. He was a 5 time pro-bowler in his 7 seasons in the NFL and had JUST AS MANY TDS AS MICHAEL IRVIN HAD FOR HIS CAREER (65 tds) IN 5 LESS SEASONS IN THE LEAGUE!!!!

There's no way that anyone can revise history and tell me that Jerry Rice and Sterling Sharpe werent the best 2 WRs in the NFL in the early 90s

:dwillhuh:

Not with the career numbers he put up:birdman:

No one in their right mind would even CONSIDER taking Flipper Anderson over a Prime Michael Irvin

nikkaz are talking about CAREER totals when comparing other recievers to prime Irvin:dwillhuh:

Exactly.. but this place is known for cats that aren't well read, having trouble with reading comprehension. Thread clearly says "prime" and we have 3 pages worth of career stats.

thats great, but this thread is about WRs who you would take in their primes.

I would take Sterling's interrupted prime over Irvin's, but his prime was cut short so we dont know if he would have gotten better or fallen off.

also, the 90s are more than 3.5 seasons

In his prime, :ooh: was not the 2nd best WR of the 90's because he was not better than Sterling Sharpe, Cris Carter, or Isaac Bruce.

In his prime or career-wise, he is one of the most overrated players of all time and him being on the top 100 players of all time list was an absolute farce.
