We can't have this post without mentioning Ice Cube and Ghostface.
If you listen to Ice Cube's first 3 projects he pretty much covers the plight of a young Black male in America from an underprivileged area, even if he wasn't necessarily underprivileged himself. Everything he talked about would end up being relevant to my life in some way. He started dumbing down on "Predator", then just seemed to run out of creative inspiration after that.
True but when he dropped that Good Cop Bad Cop song a few year back. 1st time in years I heard him spit with that much hunger in rawness in his voice like the early solo days. shyt gave me chills becaus I havent heard cube with that much bravado and pain since went solo
It's a difference between Cube yelling his lyrics just to be loud because that's his style and Cube yelling with some grit behind it. I can feel it more
if dude dropped more tracks like that I'd fukk with his music again, if he gonna keep coming with that "why bother, I'm rich" flow he can stay off the mic
